What can a family do that will interest the kids as well as grown ups? 

 

That is the question!  We have designed some Prague tours that are especially gearded for families with children of all ages.  Emphasis is given to more physical, fun or artistic activity as opposed to history and dry learning.

There are several to choose from.

In Prague, the obvious is a visit to the Prague Zoo which is very well laid out and stocked with the usual animals.  It is one of major zoos in the world and it is very popular with kids of all ages.

Petrin Hill and the maze:  this tour is a combination of a street car, funicular, walking up 2 tall towers with great views (great for photographers also) and a fun mirror maze as well as a wooden boat tour on the Vltava river.  This will keep your kids busy as well as teach them about Prague.  If your children are interested in model trains (fathers love it also :-), tell your guide and he/she will take you to a restaurant that has your drinks arriving on a model train!  Fun, fun, fun. www.vytopna.cz.

Prague Overview ... with cats.  Visit a "Cat Cafe" during your Prague Overview Tour and have your children pet and play with the resident, clean, friendly cats.

Treasure Hunt - this is a classic game best suited for groups or large families - childrens ages should be at least 10 and depending on the number of participants, there should be adults playing also to supervise the children.  The object is to find information about Prague based on hints that are given.  Teams are formed and the first to get all answers right, wins.

Outside of Prague - All of our castle tours are great for kids.  They bring their imagination to life with kings and queens, castles and dragons ... besides keeping them physically occupied since walking and climbing is a part of the visit.  See our tours "outside of Prague" for details.  For a longer tour, take your young ones to see our caves.  It's a full day but worth the trip.  Visit the Moravian Karst and find out all about how dripstone caves are formed and be in awe of the beauty that nature has created here.  See our tour "Moravian Karst - dripstone caves".

Prague does have trams with space for strollers, the subway stops have elevators and your guide will be happy to help you manouver your way through Prague, even with an infant or children in tow.  We love children.  Bring them :-).
