Your professional Tour Manager, Blanka M. Lukes, has been organising and leading tours all over Europe, the USA, S. Africa and Mexico for the past 25 years.  She has worked for top companies such as Maupintour, Go America and others and still leads groups for top tour operators.  She has put this tour together herself, based on her knowledge of what is the best to offer in the Czech Republic, her home, in a relatively short time.  She has moved to Prague from the USA only 10 years ago and enjoys knowing the best of both worlds.  The western world that she has lived and worked in most of her life as well as her childhood home, the Czech Republic.  She speaks English, Czech and German and her extensive, world education was and is in the area of history, languages, psychology, geography, the environment and more.  She shares her home with several cats along with a few humans :-)

PRAGUE is undoubtedly one of the 10 most beautiful world cities today.

KUTNA HORA is very unique with the ossuary, a church decorated with the bones of 40,000 people, most of who died during the 14-16th century as a result of war and disease.

The MORAVIAN KARST is a beautiful example of caves carved in the undergroud rock by rivers, the stalctites and stalacmites forming incredible scenary.

TREBIC is the most preserved Jewish settlement in the CR, right after Prague.

TELC is a fairytale town with the most preserved rennaisance buildings in one place.

CESKY KRUMLOV is an unreal, sleepy, quaint, medieval town which has been beautifully restored.  Like Disneyland, only for real.

PILSEN is know for it's excellent beer as well as being on the demarkation line of the Allied Forces during WWII.  Troops are still celebrated here every year.

KARLOVY VARY is the home of the yearly Karlovy Vary film festival.  Royalty meets here also every year to attend their royal balls.  Classy, pretty, relaxing - a spa town with mineral springs.

The total milage covered is only about 1000 km / 625 miles ... so each day is predominantly filled with sightseeing ... not driving.

Day 2 – Prague

This morning, your tour manager will take you on your Prague Overview Tour where all the highlights will be shown.  First we drive you up to the Prague Castle, explaining the history and sites along the way. This area was first settled already during the Bronze Age, however, the first documented dwellings were built here in the 9th century. It was the home of our kings and queens for many years. Now it houses the office of the president of the Czech Republic, several museums, the St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace and more. We will walk through this “Hradčany” district viewing the Loreto, the Archbishops Palace and other interesting areas along the way to the castle. There we visit part of the St. Vitus Cathedral, walk along the 3 courtyards and admire the architectural marvel that our ancestors created. Then we walk down through the Little Quarter (Lesser Quarter), vising the Infant Jesus of Prague, walk over the Charles Bridge via the coronation route to the Old Town Square, view the AstronomicalClock, go up the Old Town Square Tower for a magnificent view (elevator) and end on Wenceslas Square, the new part of town, "only" 600 years old.

Afternoon is at leisure to explore on your own.

For those interested in the Jewish Quarter sites from the inside, your Tour Manager will be happy to help you.  The dates of these tours are designed so that the sites will be open this day.
