Glass Factory Full Day Private Tour

Visit a Bohemian, modern glass factory where you can make and take home your self-made glass souvenir!

Make a day of it and enjoy the Bohemian north, where most of the glass factories are located.  The glass making tradition goes back hundreds of years and the Ajeto glass products are adoring homes and places of business all over the world.

The specialty here is not only that you will learn how these beautiful, modern art pieces are made, you can make your own souvenir made of Bohemian glass.

After we pick you up at your hotel in Prague, your English speaking guide will take you with the vehicle of the right size for your group to the factory.  The drive is about 1.5 hours and takes you through beautiful countryside with rolling hills and forests.  Once there, the art of blowing glass is shown and explained to you. You will then be asked to choose a design and the master glass maker will have you make your masterpiece with his help.  As you may know from Dick Francis’ detective novel “Shattered”, glass needs to cool slowly, otherwise it will shatter.  The simple designs cool an hour or so, so take it with you after your visit.   More complex patterns take more time to cool in a special oven.  Should you choose a design that requires longer cooling, your masterpiece will be delivered to you in your Prague hotel the next day for an additional fee.

After your glass blowing experience, it’s off to the factory to see how this modern, Bohemian glass is made by the experts as well as to their special show section of art pieces, done and sold all over the world to people such as Mr. Robert RedfordMs. Madeline AlbrightMs. Blanka Matragi and many more.  A recently deceased Czech artist, Mr. Borek Sipek, has done many of the designs and his work as well as the work of other artists associated with this factory is exhibited in places such as the Dubai airport, Marriott hotels, Four Seasons hotels and other well known places.   Trophies for Tour de France and the Czech Film awards are made here as well, along with much more.

Lunch is included in your "per person" fee in a typical, rustic glass blowers tavern with a view of an oven and glass blowing platform.  Or sit outside, weather permitting, and enjoy a pristine, natural, forest lined setting with a lake, a fountain, ducks and nutrias feeding nearby.  You choose from typical Czech dishes such as stuffed potato pancakes, gulash with dumplings and much more.
